The Pacific Northwest is one of the most beautiful regions in the country—and we’re proud to call it home. Yet living in the northernmost corner of the continental United States also brings unique challenges. Seasonal mood fluctuations aren’t just occasional here; they’re a common experience. When the sun retreats for months during fall and winter, the resulting changes in light and weather can have a profound physiological impact on our bodies, directly influencing our mental and emotional well-being.
Born and raised in beautiful Whatcom County, our founder, Nick Evans, understands firsthand the psychological effects of life in the “north corner.” This perspective shapes everything we do. We’ve tailored our training and ongoing clinical development to address the distinctive environmental and cultural factors of our region. As a result, we specialize in concerns especially relevant to our community—including depression, anxiety, trauma, intimate relationship issues, ADHD, and substance use disorders—helping clients find resilience and connection even during the darkest months.
Mission Statement:
“To guide individuals, couples, and families toward clarity, resilience, and authentic connection—helping them navigate life’s challenges with evidence-based therapy, deep compassion, and a steadfast commitment to their personal growth.”
Vision Statement:
“To be a trusted beacon of hope and healing in the Pacific Northwest, empowering our community to overcome obstacles, strengthen relationships, and thrive with purpose and integrity.”
Core Values:
At True North Therapy Group, we believe mental health cannot be separated from the whole person. Our integrated approach combines evidence-based therapy, trauma-informed care, and compassionate connection to address the emotional, physical, and relational dimensions of well-being.
By drawing from multiple disciplines—including cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness practices, and relational therapies—we help clients uncover the root causes of their challenges and build lasting skills for resilience and growth.
Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all model, we tailor each plan to the individual or couple, recognizing that every journey toward healing is unique. We collaborate closely with clients to align therapy with their values, goals, and life context, creating a clear path forward—your personal “true north.”
Whether you’re seeking relief from anxiety or depression, looking to strengthen relationships, or navigating a major life transition, our integrated approach ensures that your care is as dynamic and multifaceted as you are.
